INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

cold weather policy.pngINCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Regardless of weather conditions, coaches and their teams must appear on
the field of play, ready to play as scheduled, unless Soccer Spectrum has
contacted the captain/coach prior.  Failure to show will result in the forfeit of the match.

Only referees on the field or Soccer Spectrum management can cancel or
postpone a match.  Teams may not determine if a game is canceled. Teams that choose not to wait out a weather delay will forfeit that game.

Should a match’s progress be terminated due to weather conditions after the second half has started the match will be considered official and the score at the time will stand.

Game times delayed one full game slot or more will be canceled and a reschedule will be considered if the 2nd half had not started.

In the event of bad weather, game schedules and various rules may need to
be altered. Be sure to check your daysmart app for any changes to your
schedule or contact the facility at: info@soccerspectrum.com

In support of Player, Referee and staff safety we will be using the below weather guidelines to make our determination for canceling or delaying games:

For indoor and outdoor games:

Soccer Spectrum will communicate any weather-related closures in the event of icy weather.

outdoor games:

Cold Weather

Soccer Spectrum will use the US Club Extreme Cold Guidelines to make the final decision if games will be played or rescheduled.

Hot Weather

In hot weather, games will be played in the morning and evening time.

Soccer Spectrum will use the US Club Extreme Heat Guidelines to make the final decision if games will be played or rescheduled.

Lightning

Games may be delayed or cancelled completely based on severe weather such as heavy rain, hail, and lightning.

Games suspended for lightning must wait at least 30 minutes from the last strike within 10 miles before the game may be restarted.

Soccer Spectrum and the referees may cancel or delay if they if they believe other variations while at the field create an unsafe/unhealthy condition but will resume when it is safe to play.

FOH Manager Process for Lightning Delays and Reschedule Announcements:

  • Utilizing the lightning tracker app on their phone, the FOH manager will set a 10 mile radius around the facility as the home location and turn notifications on during their shifts. Any lightning strikes within 10 miles will alert the FOH manager on duty on their phone via the app.
  • Once lightning has been confirmed within 10 miles the FOH manager will alert the referees on the field and they will suspend the games. After the fields have been cleared an announcement is made to all teams that lightning has been detected within 10 miles and that all games are on a 30 min delay. Every subsequent lightning strike resets the 30 min wait timer.
  • If a game has lightning strikes that delay it for more than 45 minutes from its original start time then an announcement will be made to the teams that that game is being called off for the night and will be rescheduled for a makeup date TBD by our BOH team and the next set of games will attempt to start on time pending any more lightning strikes. Repeat this process as necessary for the duration of the storm.
  • All games that are called off for lightning or inclement weather for rescheduling should left un-scored and noted in a nightly feedback ticket for BOH to reschedule as soon as possible.
  • During lightning delays the bars and restaurant will offer a discount special to retain players and boost sales while storms are waited out. The discounts can be applied in the discount section of Toast and are $3 off large pizzas and a 15% bar tab discount. An announcement will be made the FOH manager to teams waiting.
